Monterey is a hillside city on the central coast of California. One of the city’s streets, Cannery Row (Canning Row), which used to have canned sardine factories, became world famous thanks to the famous prose writer John Steinbeck. Today, former fish shops have popular gift shops, bars, and seafood restaurants. The city is also famous for its Monterey Bay aquarium with interactive exhibitions, where you can see various marine animals and plants. The population of the city is 30,000 people.
