Ithaca is a city located on the south shore of Lake Cayuga, the first longest and second largest lake of the Glacial Finger Lakes in central New York State. The city is best known for being home to Ivy League-affiliated Cornell University with nearly 20,000 students. The name of the city was in honor of the Greek island of Ithaca. The population of the city is 30,000 people.
